My Quilting Journey

As a Canadian veteran, I was looking for a new hobby—something creative that I could enjoy and continue learning from. In 2018, I took my first step into the world of sewing by taking a sewing machine class at Pénélope Machine à Coudre de Saint-Hubert (https://www.penelope.ca/fr/). That experience was followed by an introduction to quilting, and I quickly discovered that quilting was much more than just a hobby—it was something I truly loved.

With the help, tips, and tricks I learned from Paulleger Quilt (https://paullegerquilts.com/), I completed my very first full quilt. That accomplishment gave me the confidence to keep going and explore new techniques. Also took a few of his workshops.

Then came the long-arm quilting experience that changed everything. When I brought one of my quilts to my first long-arm quilter, I was immediately fascinated by the machine and the possibilities it offered. I fell in love with long-arm quilting!

A year later, I had an incredible opportunity. My long-arm quilter was retiring and offered me the chance to purchase that very same machine. I couldn’t resist. The machine that had first captured my imagination was now mine.

What started as a search for a hobby has grown into a true passion. Quilting has given me a creative outlet, a way to keep learning, and the joy of turning fabric into something meaningful and lasting.
